My name is Richard Campbell. I am running for Mayor of Lauderhill. I have lived in Lauderhill for 28 years and was a former city commissioner. I am a physical therapist for the past 28 years. Previously, I served as a juvenile justice counselor for the state of Florida, a social worker in New York, and a physical education/Spanish teacher in Jamaica. During my tenure as a teacher, I represented teachers in the Northwestern Region Teacher’s Union. 
I earned my Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy at Nova Southeastern University. My Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science at Hunter College in New York, and a teacher’s diploma from Epef Santiago de Cuba.
As a member of the Lauderhill community, I have served on the Park and Recreation Advisory Board of the city, President of the Home Owner’s Association of the Estate of Inverrary, and the President of the Caribbean America’s Soccer Association.
As mayor of Lauderhill my number one plan on the agenda to decrease taxes and encourage small businesses to the city. Creating more businesses in the city additional jobs and generate much needed revenue. I will make safe neighborhoods and crime prevention a priority. As mayor I will develop programs to facilitate and maintain a high quality of life for seniors and families living in Lauderhill.
I am a healthcare professional with over 35 years combined experience in child welfare, sports and charitable organizations. My motto is “Giving Back to the Community”.
